At Suburbs, in our teachings and actions, we aim to promote the following five key values to emphasise our lives as sold out for Christ:
United
We value each other massively and our goal is to always be for each other. Nothing great has ever been achieved by a divided group of people. We want to follow the example of the early church:
All the believers were united in heart and mind.
- Acts 4:32 (NLT)
Victorious
The Bible reveals that in Christ we are victorious, because ultimately he is victorious. We are on the winning team! To live victoriously means to, through our faith in Christ, overcome every trial, trouble, sin and temptation. The eternal war has already been won and as a result we can see personal victories in our own battles today. This spirit of victory is based in a good theology of God – He wins every time.
Heroic
Heroism is truly seen in ordinary people who rise to do extraordinary things. We can all be a hero to somebody. The church has largely been unheroic for too long – it’s time for a revolution. Suburbs is full of heroes who keep their faith pure but are willing to get their hands dirty in order to build God’s beautiful Church.
Vibrant
We are unashamed, enthusiastic, expectant and enjoying life. This Kingdom culture and experience is what Jesus promised when he said:
I have come that [you] may have life, and have it to the full.
- John 10:10 (NIV)
Generosity
We are here to change the world and stage one is generosity. You have to want to be a giving kind of person to make a difference and we really believe that God loves a cheerful giver! At Suburbs we are so blessed to have people who are willing to give of their time, energy, money, gifts and talents to change our city!
